So folks, a few weeks back I teased that I would be putting up a post showcasing some of my wedding styling. This job came as a bit of a last minute favour to Jay and Laura who own TotallyTipi, a company you may remember I am a massive fan of. They had two Teepees up at the Great Yorkshire Show and wanted to showcase how they can be styled for Weddings/ Parties. Just something to inspire guests visiting the stand.
I therefore planned three themes and invited a florist Faye from The Flower Shop in Ossett to help me bring them to life.
The three themes were ‘All that glitters is gold’, ‘Pretty in Pink’ and ‘Bring the outside in’. Each designed to give a taste of how these incredible structures can be dressed with varying budgets and tastes. I used crockery rented from Whitehouse Crockery for both the Opulent and Simple table dressing, the Vintage crockery however was mine. Part of two tea sets from my family dating back over 100yrs. A lot of the props were sourced from high street chains that offer exceptional value for wedding/ event dressing, places like Wilkinsons, The Range and Hobbycraft are my favourites. The menu designs were a favour called in to my husband who is a designer. It has it’s perks in this line of work!
All of this was to try to showcase that you really can create beautiful styling on any budget.
Hope you enjoy the pictures, feel free to comment or indeed email me with any questions via firstname.lastname@example.org
“All that glitters is gold”
An opulent table setting dressed with a variety of props in rich gold colours. Rose gold charger plates resembling opened out leaves really set the tone here, this is then balanced with the lush dark green leaves and bright white flowers provided by Faye. Smoke coloured glass dressed down the table nicely as a finishing touch, ensuring that it didn’t go too far into the realms of glitter bomb! A perfect table design for a more glamorous wedding, winter event or even the Christmas table!
‘Bring the outside in’
A simple design utilising clear glass tableware to draw attention to the stunning floral designs. Showcasing the beautiful Sunflower as the key show piece, the rest of the design was created around making sure the tables felt warm, inviting and yet very understated in comparison with the other two designs. Something for a country wedding perhaps and would be gorgeous in an outdoor venue!
‘Pretty in pink’
A table setting with lots of feminine details and vintage pieces including 2 sets of 100 yr old crockery and crystal glassware. The star of this setting however is the custom made wooden swing hanging overhead. Beautifully styled with a floral arrangement by Faye including some of the most stunning peonies and pink roses I have seen. A beautiful piece of creative floral design that would be a memorable piece for any wedding.
